I'd like for you to get to know me so I'll share a few random tidbits about myself: I love to cook, find new recipes and new ways to cook foods that I love in a healthier fashion. I think that Oreo's are the greatest cookie ever created. I'm a big DC sports fan. I love thunderstorms and rainy days almost as much as I love sunshine and warm weather. I have a Maltese, Winston - he is my official associate.
I was married in April (2016!) to the most amazing man I've ever had the opportunity to meet. His name is Ryan, he's a chef & that in itself makes me the luckiest girl in the world.
A little about my background and experience: I'm a graduate of Christopher Newport University (BA in Psychology). After college, I spent eight years planning events & fundraisers, leading a customer service center, working on marketing initiatives, planning events, coordinating an outreach program, and directing an annual fundraiser golf tournament for a major association (just a few responsibilities...). I have excellent organizational skills, I'm personable, and have a strong commitment to doing things right. I also took Event Management courses at George Washington University prior to starting Allison Barnes Events (ABE) in 2011.
Since starting ABE we have been published numerous times (see press page!), to include Southern Living Magazine! We have been rated by brides and grooms and voted The Knot Best of Weddings 2015, 2016 & 2017 pick, named a Blue Ribbon Vendor - best of the south by Southern Weddings and won the Couples Choice Award from Wedding Wire!!
